New event
New event creates a single event without a template. The form opens from an empty cell on the planner — with the date and room pre-filled — or with N on the planner.
The fields
Link to this headingThree fields are required: production, title, and type. The rest can stay empty:
- Room — optional; an event without a room doesn’t take part in the room-conflict check.
- All-day or start and end — end before start is rejected.
- Status — Pending, Planned, Active, or Cancelled. A pending event is a tentative hold; it doesn’t block other placements.
- Mark as important — gives the chip a red edge on the grid.
- Comment and notes — the comment is outward-facing, the notes are working notes.
- Meeting link — a valid URL; attendees get a Join meeting button.
- Called departments — shown when the GrandPlanner module is on; calls in whole departments instead of individuals.
If the room is taken
Link to this headingIf the time slot collides with another event in the same room, the save stops with the message Conflicts with “the title” in the room — linking to the event you’re colliding with. Adjust the time or room and save again. Deliberate overlaps are placed from the quick-plan panel, where you can choose Place anyway — see Resolving room conflicts.
After saving, the event opens in the event detail, where you call in attendees and split into sub-events.
