Compose message
Compose message is for the message that fits none of the automatic ones: a change the whole production needs to know about, a reminder before opening, information for one group.
It is a one-off send. It attaches to no event and does not repeat.
Choosing the audience
Link to this headingUnder Audience you pick one of three: a Group, everyone on a Production, or everyone called to an Event. Then you choose which one.
The list is resolved when you send, not while you write. If someone was added to the production in the meantime, they get the message too.
Subject and message
Link to this headingSubject and Message are both required. Recipients see who the message came from, so there is no need to sign it in the text.
Once it has gone, you are told how many people actually received it, and which audience that was.
When someone has email turned off
Link to this headingPeople can switch off email notifications for themselves. They are skipped here, and the number you get back is who was actually reached — not how many were on the list.
