Bringing your team in
Bringing the rest of the team in is the last step before runorder becomes a shared tool. Roles determine what each person can see and do, so think through the assignments before adding many people at once.
Create the people
Link to this headingNew people are created under People → New person. There you fill in the profile — and the account name and email address for signing in. The person appears in the people database immediately and can be staffed on the planner, even before they have signed in themselves.
Pick the right role
Link to this headingRoles are set under Admin → Users, either per row or for several at once with the bulk action:
- Admin — full access, including everything under Admin.
- Manager — day-to-day operations: planning, approving timesheets.
- User — sees their own schedule, records their own hours. The default role for new people.
Be stingy with the admin role: most people need Manager or User. You cannot deactivate or demote your own account in the bulk actions — that prevents an organisation from locking itself out.
What the new user experiences
Link to this headingEveryone signs in on runorder’s shared sign-in page with email and password, and is forwarded automatically to the organisation’s own workspace. If a person belongs to several workspaces, they get a picker after signing in. If they see the message that their account isn’t connected to any workspace, access hasn’t been fully set up — contact whoever runs runorder in your organisation.
