Search

Search finds things across the whole of runorder: productions, events, people, groups and drafts. It is faster than navigating when you know what you are after but not where it lives.

Press / anywhere to open the search field. Type, and results appear as you go; See all results opens the full results page.

The results

Results are grouped by kind, and you can narrow them with the filters above the list — All, Events, Groups and the other kinds.

If nothing matches, the search is usually too long. A shorter search or a different keyword lands more often than a whole sentence.

You only see what you have access to

Results are filtered against your permissions before they are shown. Private events and anything else you should not see never appear in search — not even as an empty row.

Search settings

Admins control search under Search settings.

Each kind can be Indexed or not, so you can deliberately keep things out of search. Rebuild rebuilds the index for one kind, and the list shows when each kind was last built — useful when something has just been imported and is not showing up yet.

Result limit caps how many results a search returns, after the permission filter has run. Search module enabled is the master switch: turn it off and the search field disappears entirely.
