Kiosk
Kiosk covers the screens standing around showing the day’s programme — in the foyer, in the corridor, backstage. Nobody signs in to them: a screen is paired once, given a profile, and runs itself from there.
This page is where you pair them and decide what each one shows.
Pairing a screen
Link to this headingOpen the kiosk page on the screen itself. It displays a code that lasts ten minutes and renews itself when it lapses.
Enter that code here, on a signed-in admin device, and the screen is paired. It should not need touching again.
Profiles decide what a screen shows
Link to this headingA profile is the view mode, plus which room or production it applies to. The same profile can drive several screens.
The modes cover the usual placements: Now / Next for what is on stage and what follows, Today across rooms for the whole picture, Today in for a single room, Call sheet for a production’s call, a countdown poster towards opening, and the clock terminal for clocking in and out with a card.
If a mode needs a room or production and none is chosen, the screen says the profile is incomplete rather than showing something arbitrary. The same goes for a screen paired without a profile.
The devices
Link to this headingThe device list is grouped into active, orphan and revoked. You can rename a device, reassign its profile, and revoke it — or bring it back if that was a mistake.
A screen that loses the network shows cached data and says it is offline, rather than sitting there blank.
Announcements
Link to this headingAnnouncements puts a message across every paired screen at once, at three severities: Critical, Warning and Info.
Only one announcement is active at a time. Posting a new one replaces the previous, and clearing it takes it down. Save Critical for what genuinely must stop people — a fire drill, a changed call — or people stop seeing it.
